Alutus Primus
Alutus Primus
This new variety of vine, named ALUTUS, after the Latin name of the river Olt, was born from the cross between Băbeasca Neagră, an old Romanian variety and Georgian Saperavi, through the efforts and talent of researchers from Drăgășani, being cultivated for the first time on the Vila Dobrușa Domain – AVINCIS Winery, in the Drăgășani Vineyard.
This wine is aged in French oak
barrels and amphora for 12 months.
It has an extremely intense and
deep purple color. The bouquet is characterized by intense notes of cherry,
blackberry, blackcurrant up to subtle aromas of chocolate, liquorice, dried
fruit and violet, which make this variety unique. On the palate, this wine is
very gentle; with a strong character, but at the same time a very refined and
velvety tannin, which enhances the body of this wine. It has great ageing
potential.
To be served at around 17°C, with
game stew, T-bone steak, eggplant parmigiana, chocolate cake
Type of wine: Dry
