The Launch of Alutus Primus 2022 and Merlot 2022
At the end of September, Avincis launched the winery's latest creations, Alutus Primus 2022 and Merlot 2022, two grape varieties that confirm their potential in terroir of the Drăgășani, at the Vila Dobrușa estate.
The story of Alutus Primus was brought to the public's attention last year when the limited edition Cuvée Valerius Alutus Primus was launched. By that tie it also came to light the great result of the efforts of the Avincis winery team to save the old Alutus grape variety from extinction, by cultivating few cuttings preserved at the Stațiunea Viti-Vinicolă Drăgășani. The difference between the two wines is given by the quality of the selected grapes and the barrique method. Alutus is a wine with a strong character, purple color and unique flavor that noblely completes the range of red wines produced by our winery.
Merlot is already tradition of cultivation at Vila Dobrușa estate - Avincis winery, it has stood both individually and in emblematic blends, and starting with 2022 harvest, it returns with the robustness of the wine which aging potential is a certainty.
Alutus Primus and Merlot are addressing both theprofessionals and wine lovers, who have the curiosity to discover the authenticity of noble grape varieties, the leisure to savor their story, and the patience to open and rediscover them over the years.
