AVINCIS – VILA DOBRUȘA WINE ESTATE - Together for 15 years on a journey of passion, tradition, and excellence in Romanian wine

AVINCIS Winery, part of the Vila Dobrușa family wine estate founded in 1927, reopened its doors 15 years ago, on the second day of Pentecost — a true bridge between tradition and modernity, and part of the rebirth story of the Drăgășani vineyard region.

The wine estate is represented by an exceptional architectural ensemble designed by architect Alexandru Beldiman, a modern winery, the family manor house, and 50 hectares cultivated with Romanian and international grape varieties, such as the emblematic Negru de Drăgășani, alongside Crâmpoșie Selecționată, Fetească Regală, Sauvignon Blanc, Tămâioasă Românească, Orange, Alutus, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Fetească Neagră.

An important part of the winery’s identity and of the Drăgășani vineyard region, the Negru de Drăgășani, Alutus, and Crâmpoșia Selecționată varieties are an authentic expression of the Drăgășani terroir and stand out among the most representative Romanian and European wines.

One of AVINCIS Winery’s most significant achievements in recent years has been the valorization of the exceptional potential of the indigenous Alutus variety, which bears the Latin name of the Olt River, the achievement of the collaboration between researchers from Drăgășani and the AVINCIS team. Alutus is represented by the wines Cuvée Valerius – Alutus Primus, bottled in a limited number of bottles, and Alutus Primus, both contributing to strengthening the image of Romanian wine on the international stage.

Cuvée Valerius – Alutus Primus stands out through its aromatic and chromatic complexity, elegant structure, and aging potential. Matured in French oak barrels, it has become a symbol of AVINCIS Winery. Alutus Primus expresses the distinct character of this unique variety through profunde character, velvety texture, and a memorable aromatic identity. Cuvée Valerius – Alutus Primus has been awarded gold medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards and VINARIUM, confirming the value of a project built with perseverance and passion.
